Keawakapu Beach
Your closest beach — a long, uncrowded crescent with calm turquoise water. Perfect for morning swims and sunsets. Street parking on South Kihei Road.

3
Ulua & Mokapu Beach
Two connected beaches with excellent snorkeling between the rocky point. Turtles frequent here. Less crowded than Wailea Beach.

A hidden gem tucked behind Big Beach — cross the lava rock on the north end. Clothing-optional, vibrant Sunday drum circles. One of Maui's most unique spots.

Things to
Do on Maui

From sunrise at Haleakalā to snorkeling with sea turtles — here's how to make the most of your time on the Valley Isle.

Haleakalā Sunrise
Drive to 10,000 ft and watch the sun rise above the clouds. Depart by 3 AM. Reservation required — book at recreation.gov weeks ahead.
Molokini Snorkel Cruise
Half-moon volcanic crater with 100 ft visibility. Book with Trilogy or Pride of Maui out of Maalaea Harbor — 20 min from the house.
Surf Lessons
Cinnamon Roll Surf School in Kihei is great for beginners. Experienced surfers — hit Honolua Bay (winter) or Hookipa (north shore).
Road to Hana
Black sand beaches, bamboo forests. Start before 8 AM to beat traffic. Plan a full day — stop at Twin Falls, Wai'anapanapa, and Oheo Gulch.
Kitesurfing / Windsurfing
Kanaha Beach Park in Kahului is world-class for both. Lessons available on site from Aqua Sports Maui.
World-Class Golf
Wailea Gold, Emerald, and Blue courses are 5 min away. Kapalua's Plantation Course (scene of the PGA Sentry) is a stunning 45-min drive.
Hiking
Sliding Sands Trail inside Haleakalā Crater is unforgettable. For easier hikes, try Waihee Ridge or Waihou Spring Trail on the north slope.
Stargazing
Haleakalā summit at night has virtually zero light pollution. Or simply step out to the pool deck here after midnight — the Milky Way is visible most nights.
